National Instruments RM10 Radio Module
The National Instruments RM10 radio module is a Bluetooth device with RF transmitter and receiver capabilities. It specifically supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The primary advantage of BLE is its energy conservation. It achieves this in part through its connection model; rather than constantly listening for connections, BLE "slave" devices actively invite connections from a master device to save power.
The RM10 radio module is only compatible with authorized firmware images provided by National Instruments and is designed with security measures that prevent any unsigned firmware images from being remotely deployed. Under IC regulations, the NI RM10 may only be operated using an approved antenna type and maximum gain to reduce potential radio interference to other users. It is compatible with three antennas:
1. A molded SMT antenna manufactured by TE Connectivity (part number 1513504-1) with a maximum gain of 2 dBi.

2. A rubber duck monopole antenna manufactured by Pulse (part number W5010) with a maximum gain of 1.5 dBi.

3. A rubber duck monopole antenna manufactured by MMT Machrone (part number WAS002-000178B-S12) with a maximum gain of 1.5 dBi.
The antenna must be installed so that a minimum distance of 39 mm is maintained between the antenna and users. The transmitter must not be co-located with any other antenna or transmitter. This module meets the requirements for FCC 47 CFR Part 15C (Intentional Radiators) and IC RSS-247 (DTSs, FHSs, and LE-LAN).
This device is designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a commercial environment. Operating this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference.
